Updates

Updates and Final Drafts
Front Cover:

Updates:
  • The subtitles such as 'Biffy Clyro' seemed to blend too much with the model's hair, so I created a shadow behind the font to make sure the name was easier to see. I also did this with 'Muse', 'Paramore' and the poster advertisement.
  • I put a border around one of the posters as the colours blended too much and it made it hard to separate between the background and the poster colour.
  • I made my own barcode.
  • I bolded 'THE STEREOTYPES' to make sure it was easier to see, also checking the spelling as I had spelt it wrong! I have learnt to appreciate the work that editors do in order to make sure everything is spelt correctly.
  • I made 'The voice behind' smaller so that I could fit it onto the model's frame, as the 'T' and 'D' seemed to blend too much with the background.
  • I made the description of 'Muse', 'Paramore' and 'Biffy Clyro' a darker, bolder colour so it was easier to read.
  • I made the date and price of the magazine smaller as when I printed it out, it was too big compared to general magazines.

Contents Page:

Updates:
  • I made the main photo smaller as it was taking up a lot of space.
  • I made the contents titles smaller, as when I printed it out it was very big. This also meant that I could write more on the contents and add more to my magazine.
  • I added social media networks.
  • I changed the posters, including one of my own photos from 30 Seconds to Mars in order to include my own experiences into my magazine.
  • I made the page numbers increase, as magazines generally have more than 53 pages!

Double Page Spread:

Updates:
  • I had originally liked my double page spread, but realised that I needed a fold in the page. So in order to do this, I rearranged the writing and pictures but still kept the slanted photos and content of the interview.
  • I changed the font on the main headline, as the speech marks on the actual font wouldn't change correctly. It also looked more formal.
  • I made the photos look slanted so that it resembled a collection of photos, like you would have at an event like this. It was also different to the generic straight photos, and was a bit more creative.
  • I made sure that the writing in the article was as neat as possible.
  • I added a factfile based on an interview from Biffy Clyro in Mojo, including who the band are, and recommended songs and albums by the band to give the reader more information. I also created an album cover using photoshop, as an example to the reader of the album itself.
  • I also added descriptions on the photos of what is happening in the photo.
  • I added a borderline between the headline and article, as well as a capital 'O' like they use at the start of articles.
